It was fantastic to connect with fellow Python enthusiasts and learn from experts in the community. A special thanks to Pamela Fox for the insightful open-source walkthrough and the opportunity to dive deeper into Pallets Projects.

The collaborative project breakouts were a great way to get hands-on experience and strengthen my skills in open-source development.

🚀𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜 & 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀! 🌟

I had an amazing time attending the Bay Area Coders Collective event in San Francisco, where I got to learn from top experts at Google Cloud and connect with fellow developers in the Bay Area tech community. Here are some highlights from the event:

🔹 BigQuery & Generative AI with Alicia Williams: Alicia Williams gave an insightful demo on how BigQuery is revolutionizing data analytics with its new capabilities, including generative AI for sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and visual feature extraction. I had a great conversation with Alicia about BigQuery’s new features and the exciting possibilities it opens up. We also discussed the DocAI API—exciting stuff for automating document processing with AI!

🔹 Google Cloud Run + GPUs with Steren Giannini & Wenlei (Frank) He: Steren Giannini and Wenlei (Frank) He gave an engaging demo on how Google Cloud Run now supports GPUs, enabling powerful real-time AI inference applications in a serverless environment. I had a fascinating chat with Steren Giannini about Ollama and how it enhances the development of AI-powered solutions.

It was fantastic not only to learn from the speakers but also to meet so many great people at the event. Huge thanks to Alicia Williams, Steren Giannini, and Wenlei (Frank) He for their valuable insights, and to everyone I had the chance to connect with, including Vaibhav Jayan, Ahmad Zainuddin, CSM, Parth Sareen, Michael Chiang, Daisy Mayorga-Fuentes, Patrick Waivers, Konstantin Ramenskii, Courtney Oribello, Wei Wang, Maria Mobilia, Bill Prin.

I’m excited to apply all the knowledge I gained, from AI-powered analytics to new serverless cloud capabilities, to my own projects and continue pushing the boundaries of Cloud, AI, and Data Science.

Our project, 𝗙𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱, focuses on addressing the complexities of building codes in California and their impact on affordable housing development. It was an incredible experience working on such an impactful problem with my amazing team: Sophia Gigliotti, Komal Rajani, and Soshi Irie. Huge thanks to all of you for your dedication and teamwork!

I had an amazing night at the 𝗔𝗜 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝘀. 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 hosted by the SuperHuman Society in San Francisco. The debate brought together two powerful perspectives on one of the most pressing topics in AI development today:

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀?

It was a stimulating evening of discussion, where we explored the crucial balance between accelerating AI progress and ensuring it is developed with the necessary safety measures. I shared my thoughts on the importance of striking that balance—accelerating innovation while making sure we are thoughtfully mitigating the risks and potential negative impacts of AI.

🧠 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀:

- The critical balance between 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝘀. 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 in AI development.

- The ethical implications of advancing AI too quickly without sufficient oversight.

- The collective responsibility we all share in ensuring a sustainable and responsible future for AI.

Huge thanks to Virgile Blais and the SuperHuman Society team for organizing such a well-structured and thought-provoking event. I’m excited for future debates and continuing these important conversations with passionate professionals in the field.

It was also great connecting with Romy Ilano, Jayson McCauliff, Haobei Aaron Song, Nick Rozman, Anna Jacobi, Spencer Kaplan who shared some fascinating insights during the evening. Let’s keep the conversation going and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI while keeping safety at the forefront. 🔍

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞

As we continue to use platforms like LinkedIn to build our professional networks, it’s important to recognize both the benefits and the risks that come with sharing personal information online. While putting your data out there can help you receive personalized recommendations, it also opens the door to potential harassment and bullying.

Recently, I’ve encountered harassment from an individual named Mike Wong, who has been sending messages to my personal phone and LinkedIn account, making false claims about me, including accusations of online bullying.

This individual has only 2 connections on LinkedIn, and their activity is limited to commenting on my posts. I’ve blocked and reported this person, but I wanted to share this experience along with screenshots of the messages and comments to raise awareness.

This serves as a reminder for all of us to stay vigilant about the potential risks of online interactions. Please be cautious when engaging with suspicious accounts and report any harmful behavior.

LinkedIn, I’m requesting your support to ensure your reporting tools effectively prevent harassment, so we can all feel safe while networking and building professional communities.

Let’s continue to use LinkedIn to foster positive, professional connections, while also being mindful of the risks that come with sharing personal information.

𝗛𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 Women in Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 IBM! 🚀

The day was full of powerful insights, demos, and inspiring conversations, leaving me more motivated than ever to push the boundaries of data science and AI. It was a reminder of how much impact women are making in tech and the importance of amplifying each other’s voices. 🌟

A huge thank you to Grishma Jenafor being an incredible host, bringing great energy and keeping the event so engaging throughout the day. 🙌 The event kicked off with an insightful demo by Yana Ageeva and Laurent Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre showcasing an AI-driven application to improve customer retention. It was fascinating to explore how businesses can use this technology to understand customer behavior and deliver personalized experiences. 💡

We then heard from amazing speakers on a variety of topics:

●Laura Guio inspired us with her Executive Keynote, reminding me that I’ve found my peers — a room full of brilliant women making waves in data science! 💪

●Sandi Besen discussed Building Intelligent Multi-Agent Systems.

●Claudia Natasia shared her journey on “Code, Chaos, and Founding Dreams” Riley AI

●Katie Kaplan, PhD presented on Leveraging Remote Sensing, Machine Learning, and Causal Inference for climate solutions.

●Nathalie Baracaldo explored AI Safety and Unlearning for AI Safety.

●Cathy D. shared insights on Building AI Safeguards for election integrity.

●Vishakha Gupta talked about Simplifying Analytics on Multimodal Data.

The day wrapped up with a fantastic panel discussion featuring Miriam Leon, Shruti Bhutaiya, Yana Ageeva, and Yogitha Chilukuri on how data science is transforming industries and the future of AI. 💬

And of course, no event is complete without some fun! There was an inside joke about “RAG” that had everyone laughing — moments like these truly made the day memorable. 😄

Beyond the talks, I had the chance to meet and connect with incredible people, including Sandira Calviac, Manana Hakobyan, Hypatia Hou and many others — exchanging ideas about careers, innovation, and the future of data science. 🙌

A big thank you to IBM for hosting this incredible event and creating a dynamic space for learning and networking. I’m excited to stay connected with everyone I met!

Had a fantastic time at the Figma x GitHub Dev Meetup last week in San Francisco!

It was an amazing opportunity to connect with fellow developers and learn about the latest innovations in design and development. 🎉 Key highlights:

Lightning Talks from Jake Albaugh (Developer Advocate, Figma) and Cole Bemis (Staff Research Engineer, GitHub)—insightful discussions on the intersection of design and development.

Design-to-Code Demo: Figma and GitHub Copilot’s new integration in the Copilot Workspace—a game-changer for turning designs into code faster and more seamlessly than ever! 🚀

Networking with other devs and designers, exchanging ideas on how to streamline workflows and collaborate more effectively.

It was great chatting with Robert Young-Bobbett, Roxane Noël, Biplow Ghimire, Arun M., Danielle Robinson, Shelley Wang about everything from AI-driven development tools and design systems to React and front-end development. I really enjoyed hearing about their unique experiences with different technologies and how they are integrating them into their projects. It was also a pleasure to meet Ana Boyer, one of the event organizers, who did an amazing job bringing everyone together and making the event so memorable!
